About ADS International Express
Since 2009 moving cargo into and out of Malaysia — and credentials you can check without asking us.
Most logistics companies ask you to take their capability on trust. Ours is a matter of public record: ADS holds product approvals from two Malaysian regulators in its own name, one of them for more than a decade, and both are verifiable against the regulators’ own records.
This page sets out what ADS is, what it can prove, and — just as usefully — what it does not take on.

A freight forwarder, a customs consultancy, and a licensed courier operator
ADS International Express Sdn. Bhd. is a Malaysian logistics company based in Subang Jaya, Selangor, operating since 2009.
Freight forwarding
Sea freight LCL and FCL, air freight, and international and domestic express.
Customs clearance
At Port Klang — North Port and West Port — for sea, and KLIA for air and express.
Product approvals
Identifying which Malaysian agency governs a product and managing the application through the specialist tied to that agency.
Importer of record and distribution
Importing in ADS’s own name for brands with no Malaysian entity, and delivering to the retailers they appoint.
Most Malaysian companies of our size do the first. The third and fourth are where ADS is unusual, and they are the reason the rest of this site is written the way it is.
Four credentials, and where to check each one
Everything here is checkable by a third party without going through us.
Energy Commission Certificates of Approval, held in ADS’s own name — for more than ten years
Suruhanjaya Tenaga issues these for regulated mains-powered electrical equipment, and they are issued to the importer. Not arranged on a client’s behalf, not managed as an agent: held by ADS, as the registered importer, continuously for over a decade.
Verification destination: Check against the Energy Commission’s records.
MCMC Compliance Approvals
For products in the same brand’s range that transmit. A mains-powered wireless product needs both regimes at once — which is the hard case, and it is the one ADS already runs.
Verification destination: Check against MCMC’s approval records.
Membership of WCA World
The global network of independent freight forwarders. Listed in WCA’s own member directory, so it is not a claim that depends on us.
Verification destination: Check the WCA member directory.
MCMC courier licence
Formally a Non-Universal Service Licence, granted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission under the Postal Services Act 2012 and the Postal Services (Licensing) Regulations 2015. It is the licence that authorises a courier service in Malaysia.
Verification destination: Check MCMC’s published list of Non-Universal Service Licensees.
The mechanism behind the credentials
Both sides of the same account
ADS acts as importer of record for an international consumer brand — importing in its own name, holding the approvals, and distributing to that brand’s appointed retailers — while also running the logistics for that brand’s main distributor, who imports independently. Two entirely different commercial structures, same account, at the same time. It is the clearest demonstration available that ADS can work either way round.
Into more than 70 shopping mall locations
Across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. Retail inbound programmes that start at a manufacturer’s warehouse overseas and end on a shelf.
Our own representatives in China
Most Malaysian forwarders of our size have nobody at origin. Ours check a supplier’s paperwork before the cargo leaves, and can arrange a certificate of origin where a manufacturer cannot issue one — which is the difference between finding out about a documentation problem at origin and finding out about it at Port Klang.
Clearance through appointed licensed brokers
We work with a dedicated clearance broker at Port Klang and another at KLIA, rather than shopping one per shipment. They know how we build a file — which documents, which classification basis, what evidence sits behind a value. We settle the classification and documentation, the broker prepares the declaration, we check it against the position we agreed with you, and you approve it before it is filed. Two sets of eyes on the declaration before submission, and the second set is yours.
Product approvals through the specialist for each agency
We work out which approvals a product actually needs, manage the application through the consultant tied to that agency, and start it before the cargo sails rather than after it arrives. What we sell there is the timing and the coordination — approvals in hand when the vessel berths, instead of cargo accruing storage while an application is processed.
Dangerous goods, handled and arranged
Battery and other dangerous-goods consignments are routed through carriers approved under IATA and IMDG rules, with documentation and booking prepared to match.
The list most logistics companies leave out
A supplier who tells you what they will not take is easier to plan around than one who agrees to everything and discovers the problem later.
We cannot be your importer for medical devices, pharmaceuticals or health products
Those regimes require a licensed local party, and that party is not ADS. We can and do move and clear them where you hold the licence, registration or notification — freight, customs clearance and delivery. Movement and clearance only, and we do not store medical devices.
We do not warehouse your inventory
Our model moves cargo into your distribution centre or your retailer’s, with the short-term handling that clearance and delivery scheduling require. We are not a 3PL and do not present ourselves as one.
And there is cargo we do not carry
Food and perishables, alcohol, tobacco, complete vehicles, used goods, temperature-controlled cargo of any kind, and high-value cargo such as gold and fine jewellery.
Small enough to answer, large enough to run a programme
Owner-managed
Decisions about your account are made by people who carry the consequences of them, not escalated through a regional office.
Consultants who know what you ship
Not a queue and not a ticket number. Our people know how your cargo classifies, what approvals it triggers, and which lane suits it — so you are not re-explaining your business every time you book.
One team across every mode
Express, air, sea, customs, permits and last-mile sit on one account. You are not stitching four vendors together and arbitrating between them when a shipment moves.
No minimum volume
A first shipment to test a market is a perfectly good place to start.
FAQ
How long has ADS been operating?
Since 2009 — moving and clearing cargo into and out of Malaysia for importers, exporters, manufacturers and retail programmes.
Where are you based?
Subang Jaya, Selangor. We clear at Port Klang — North Port and West Port — for sea freight, and at KLIA for air freight and express.
Are you a courier company or a freight forwarder?
Both, and the combination is the point. ADS began in express and still runs it, and it is also a freight forwarder and customs consultancy. For most businesses the right answer is a mix — express for what is genuinely urgent, air freight for planned volume, sea for bulk and replenishment — and having all of it on one account is what makes the mix possible.
How big is your team?
We do not publish a headcount, and it is usually the wrong question. What a buyer wants to know is whether they will deal with someone who understands their cargo, and whether the company is large enough to run a programme without dropping it. On the first: our consultants are the people you speak to, and they know your product. On the second: judge it by the approvals we hold and the programmes described above, not by a number on a website.
Who handles my customs declaration?
A licensed clearance broker — we work with a dedicated one at each of our entry points, Port Klang and KLIA, trained to our documentation standard. We settle the classification and the paperwork, the broker prepares the declaration, we check it, and it comes to you for approval before it is filed.
Can I verify your approvals?
Yes, and we would encourage it. Our Energy Commission Certificates of Approval and MCMC Compliance Approvals are held in ADS’s own name and sit in those regulators’ records. Our WCA World membership is in WCA’s member directory.
Do you own your own aircraft, vessels or containers?
No, and neither does any forwarder of our size that tells you otherwise. We book across multiple shipping lines, airlines, NVOCCs and consolidators rather than through a single relationship — which is what lets us find space and a workable rate on a lane where a single-carrier forwarder cannot.
Do you have a warehouse?
We are not a 3PL and we do not hold your inventory. Cargo moves into your distribution centre or your retailer’s, with the short-term handling around clearance and delivery scheduling.
Do you work with businesses outside Malaysia?
Yes. Overseas brands are a significant part of what we do — including brands with no Malaysian entity, where ADS imports in its own name and distributes on their behalf.
What is the smallest shipment you will take?
There is no minimum. Businesses testing a first shipment into or out of Malaysia are a normal place for us to start.
Tell us what you are moving
Send us the product, the lanes and roughly how often. We will come back with what it needs, what it will cost to land, and the sensible way to move it — including telling you when the way you are shipping now is already the right one.
